At Rhu Mew, we’re here to make sure your cat never gets bored again!
We Are Rhu Mew
Welcome to Rhu Mew a passion project inspired by our beloved feline guardian, Rhuben (Rhu for short). He’s a rebel with a big heart, and although he may be small for a tomcat, his adventurous spirit is boundless.
Some fun facts about Rhu:
- He loves being around people, but hates cuddles!
- He was an indoor cat for 5 years before we moved house and his curiosity couldn’t keep him indoors
- He spends his days guarding the house and garden, chasing off any birds and wildlife he comes across
- He takes very few naps for a cat, he always has to be part of the action
- He’s 9 years old but still a big kitten at heart
- He’s a daredevil. He enjoys climbing up to high places, we’ve had to rescue him for a tree a few times!
- He’s not shy or afraid of other cats, he always enjoys chasing and playing with them.
- He’s a massive talker, he meows for all sorts of reasons, but we always know exactly what he’s saying - who knew we’d learn to speak cat!
And Then There Was Miku...
Rhu was the boss of the house, whatever he said goes, but then there was Miku…
Miku is our fun-loving, energetic kitten! She’s a bundle of energy that keeps Rhu on his toes!
When Miku joined the family Rhu didn’t know what hit him! But since then he has become the best big brother.
Some fun facts about Miku:
- She's a Diluted Calico: grey, white and ginger. (Normal Calico's are black instead of grey).
- She's very mischievous and likes to steal things!
- She spends most of her days exploring the house and trying to find Rhu.
- She's still a kitten but growing up fast!
- She like to sneak and eat Rhu's food when she thinks no one is looking!
- Her meows sound more like a pigeon cooing than a cat calling.
- She loves cuddles and doesn't really like being by herself.
- She like to watch Rhu and always tries to copy what he does, like opening doors!
How Rhu Mew was born
You see we had a problem.
We know that play is really important for cats—it helps keep them happy, healthy, and active. This is especially true for indoor cats, like our Rhu was or energetic cats like Miku.
But finding toys was often hit and miss, they would be more interested in the box it came out of!
And when we did hit, we didn’t know how to rotate his toys to stop them from getting bored. That’s when we realised we needed a better way to keep Rhu and Miku engaged and excited.
We tested many toys and eventually we came up with the perfect combination that would satisfy their natural instincts to chase, scratch and chew. Hence, the Pawsome Playtime Bundle was born!
We knew that if Rhu was struggling to stay engaged and Miku was needing so much stimulation, other cats probably had these problems too. So, we set out on a mission—to create a toy bundle that actually works, designed with a cat’s natural instincts in mind.
